Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage local operational issues and vehicle fleet, including use of driver safety systems
- Manage drivers, including recruitment, induction, training, rostering and workload and fatigue management
- Manage routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement focus on organisational policies, procedures and systems, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation
- Report to senior management on local market and business conditions
- Strong team leadership experience in fleet and freight management
- Knowledge of CoR legislation and system use to assist compliance
- Ability to follow existing accreditation guidelines in relation to mass maintenance and fatigue
- Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) qualiifications as driver and scheduler
- MC licence (or HC licence at minimum)
- Sound mechanical knowledge
- Experience in driver/staff recruitment, management and development
- Experience in rostering for effective workload coverage planning
- Ability to follow organisational policies, procedures and systems
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to correspond directly with customers
- Resilient and adaptable mindset with hands-on approach
