Key Account Manager - Freight Forwarding with ref.

Small freight forwarder is currently looking for a client-focused Key Account Manager to join their dynamic team. As the Key Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for their strategic clients. You will be responsible for building strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and delivering operational solutions. Your ability to manage complex accounts and coordinate across internal teams will be key to ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the main liaison between key clients and internal operations teams
Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic freight forwarding accounts
Identify customer needs and provide customised freight solutions (air and sea)
Analyse account performance and develop strategies to improve service and profitability
Prepare reports, forecasts, and service reviews
Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure service excellence
Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and company standards

Qualifications:

3+ years experience in freight forwarding in similar role in Australia
Strong knowledge of operational processes (in Australian market)
Proficient in CargoWise and MS Office Suite
Proven ability to manage and grow key customer accounts
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and drive decisions
