Job Description

This niche global forwarder located in Sydney’s western suburbs is seeking an experienced import coordinator to join the team. In the role you will be responsible for managing the shipping processes from registration through to delivery with high levels of customer service. Previous experience in import operations with in an Australian international freight forwarder is required for this role.

Job responsibilities & duties include:
  • Register import documentation and report to customs
  • Monitor shipment arrival and update client accordingly
  • Pay import/carrier charges in line with container release
  • Coordinator pick up of container from wharf
  • Prepare and create invoices
  • Outturn reports and delivery documents sent to origin offices
  • Facilitate customs & quarantine clearances
  • Liaise with customers, international departments, overseas offices, shipping lines, freight forwarders, transport companies, customs and quarantine
Experience & attributes required:
  • Prior Import Sea Operations / Customer Service experience with a freight forwarder in the Australian market 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Time management skills, attention to detail and proficiency
  • Ability to apply creativity and problem-solving skills
