Financial Controller - Freight Forwarding with ref.

Well-established international freight forwarder is seeking to add a senior finance professional to their Sydney Head Office. This is a diverse role encompassing the full spectrum of business finance functions, from mundane through to management. You must have freight forwarding finance and Cargowise experience in a role of comparable scope in the Australian market in order to be considered for this role.

Duties and responsibilities:

Coordinate AR and AP functions
Generate and reconcile invoices
Bank, BAS and creditor reconciliations - domestic and offshore
Verify customer agreements - incl credit terms
Process creditor payments
Check supplier invoices against quote - job-related and overhead
Debt collection
Contribute to financial and management reporting
Process payroll incl superannuation payments

Role Requirements:

Freight forwarding finance experience essential
Cargowise (Accounts Module) experience essential
Strong system literacy - Excel essential and Xero preferred
Excellent communication skills – written and oral
Strong team focus and positive demeanour
Natural tendency to thrive in a changing, fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritise and follow through to meet challenging deadlines
Attention to detail
