Customer Service / Import Operations with ref.

Global Freight Forwarder located in Alexandria is seeking an experienced Import Operator - Customer Service Representative to manage a diverse portfolio of clients and develop a rewarding career. You must have international freight forwarding operations and /or customer service experience in order to be considered for this role.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Receive new orders from agent or clients
Liaise with overseas agents to arrange the timely and cost effective shipping of cargo
Liaise with and keep clients updated on shipment status where required
Receive documents from clients and/or overseas agents and arrange for jobs to be entered in the system by the registration team.
Liaise with customs brokers for customs clearance
Lodge Sea cargo for freight forwarding shipments
Issue invoices to clients and/or overseas agents
Check and enter cost invoices from service providers and overseas agents
Issue delivery orders
Liaise with transport dept for FCL deliveries or arrange deliveries direct with couriers for LCL & airfreight shipments.

Role Requirements:

Experience using EDI Cargowise
Experience in import seafreight (FCL/LCL/FCX)
Knowledge of or at least exposure to import airfreight will be an advantage
Outstanding customer service skills
Excellent communication skills - written and oral
Drivers Licence required
