Job Description

International freight forwarder is seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to play a key role in driving new business growth into the organisation. This pivotal role is offered at an exciting time in the organisation's evolution and best suited to applicants with relevant new business sales experience or operations and/or customer service experience and looking to develop a commercial career. Must have international freight forwarding experience in the Australian market in order to be considered.    
Duties Include:  
  • Generate and/or action sales leads
  • Attend sales appointments
  • Submit quotations
  • Report on business movement, opportunities, industry trends, competitor activity and past/future sales appointments 
  • Maintain a realistic sales plan - incl budget, targets and forecast
  • Participate in projects related to sales, revenue and margin
Role Requirements:
  • Ability to convert sales leads into new business opportunities
  • Sound international forwarding operational knowledge
  • Capacity to develop and maintain strong business relationships
  • Strong client empathy and analytical skills to creatively offer solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - oral and written
  • High degree of self-motivation, flexibility, integrity and discipline
