Job Description

International freight forwarder with substantial global footprint is seeking a versatile Logistics Manager to further develop their Sydney operations. This key role is best suited to logistics professionals experienced in the international freight forwarding space.    

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage warehouse operations - including freight in/out, configuration and operating flow
  • Manage transport operations - including in-house and outsourced vehicles
  • Manage staff - including recruitment, mentoring, development, performance and resourcing - vs cost/budget/business requirements  
  • Contribute to compliance obligations - including ABF, Biosecurity, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Aviation Security
  • Negotiate relevant supplier contracts 
  • Reporting - including activity, workflow and safety
  • Champion safe, secure and well-maintained physical resources
  • Share information with key stakeholders - including management, staff and statutory authorities
Skills & Experience:
  • Hands-on logistics management experience in international freight forwarding space (77G and QAP) essential - forklift license preferred
  • DG, RACA, CoR and Biosecurity accreditation preferred
  • Demonstrable team leadership experience 
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to ensure outcome delivery
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Efficient organisational and time management skills
  • Professionalism, integrity and the ability to build long-term relationships
  • Commitment to pursue and implement best practice principles
  • Resilient and adaptable mindset with hands-on, process-driven approach 
  • Clear customer service focus
