About the Role
As the Seafreight Operations Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day operational requirements across import and export sea freight movements while maintaining exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.
You will work closely with management and play an important role in supporting process improvements and the ongoing development of operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end import and export sea freight shipments
- Liaise with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, transport providers, and customs brokers
- Manage shipment tracking, documentation, and cargo availability
- Coordinate customs clearance and delivery requirements
- Prepare and process freight documentation accurately and efficiently
- Monitor shipment milestones and proactively communicate updates to clients
- Arrange transport, cartage, and delivery requirements
- Manage invoicing and operational billing processes
- Ensure compliance with freight forwarding regulations and company procedures
- Maintain accurate records within freight forwarding operating systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in Australian freight forwarding operations
- Strong knowledge of import and export sea freight procedures
- Experience using CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding documentation and operational processes
- Experience in freight forwarding invoicing and operational administration
- Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Experience with emerging freight forwarding technology platforms, including Clear AI
- Exhibition, events, or project logistics experience
- Exposure to both sea and air freight operations
